To develop youth leadership skills and a community through organized sports and competition.
To jump-start youth's interest in the game of basketball by encouraging them with a fun event that supports future basketball coaches, mentors, and opportunities for youth to play.
We believe that organized sports competition allows young people to develop and gain skills that are invaluable in life. By being part of a program that imparts discipline, team comradery, communication skills, and both behavioral and physical tools to support improved basketball competition, young people can better prepare themselves for the future.
Our team of coaches, mentors, and volunteers will teach the fundamental building blocks of working in teams, communicating needs, growing mental stability through toughness and versatility, and fundamental basketball skills to youth.
HBA Basketball Academy is a platform created to nurture and develop future leaders by using sports as an avenue to build strong character and community. As part of this development, HBA scouts for top talent to participate in professional basketball leagues and national teams. Our aim is to impact the next generation — not only by improving their basketball fundamentals, but the fundamentals in life.
HBA Basketball Academy was founded by Henrison Mbaziira, an avid basketball player in Uganda who is focused on supporting the sport through his endeavors. Henrison is building and developing his organization, and is seeking support to establish a proper board governance structure to drive the growth of basketball in Uganda.
